The well driller starts today. He guesses he will hit water at 400'.

One thing to say about deep wells, the water is usually very cold and great for drinking.


Unless you hit oil first.

Remember he's in a state where hot water shoots out of the ground in a timely manner....and boiling mud oozes to the surface. He might hit magma down there somewhere....

Drilling rig. It has a Detroit 12V71. Yes, it leaks oil. He asked for some cardboard to catch the drips over the next 2 days. We gave him some scrap OSB. Drilling starts tomorrow morning.
