Chris, dunno if you've had time to check but here's the adjustment page for the HF saws - AFAIK, they're pretty much all the same - I haven't tried using a thicker blade yet, but IIRC, there was more than 10 thou of slop in those adjustments... Steve

Mine is an Enco, but expect it is likely the same as HF. Next time I go out to the shop I will check.

Hadn't thought of this til now, but a thicker blade would probably cut slower - I know how surprised I was at the speed my portaband cut the first time, it uses .025" blades too... Steve

My only concern about the thicker blade is there are some who say they break easier due to their thickness. If my saw will take them I think I will try out the soldering game. It is cheaper to buy a coil and make your own, and I used to be pretty good at soldering.

I'll find out tomorrow if my saw has adjustable guides.
