Thinking back a bit, the acetylene regulator I repaired a few months ago did not have a blown diaphragm. The rubber? tip of the needle valve had disintegrated and wouldn't hold back the tank pressure. I could have just replaced the needle valve but the kit came with everything needed for the internals. The regulator was a Radnor, which is made by Victor for Praxair. A Victor kit is what I had ordered.

I’ve had my Victor regulators, small and standard size, rebuilt at Fresno Oxy.

I’ve had torches rebuilt there too.

Now they don’t want to do it. They just want to sell you Chinese stuff.
Maybe the one old guy in Fresno still doing this retired.

Anyhow, while I was waiting to get my Victor regulators back I once bought a set of Chinese regulators and that was a big mistake. They were no good at low pressures and when I tried to use them with a triple zero tip it was almost impossible.

They were beautiful looking, chrome plated and everything, but I gave them away after I got my Victors back from the shop.

Just noted some of the cheap ones may be calibrated on the high side.

I had always wondered if there was much difference between the different gases. I originally had this hooked up to a CO2 soda tank and replaced it with a C25 tank from the farm supply store that was 'guaranteed' to never need anything. Just take it in and swap it out like common propane grill tanks. By the time I managed to use it all up, the company had discontinued that program. So, I ended up at the LWS and getting reamed in the process. I'm sure this current tank will be just as bad if I ever get to the bottom of it.

I have this regulator laying on my desk to remind me to fix or replace it. It's a neat paperweight, but it does little to jog my memory to actually do something about it
