Your house and the new shop looks very good. My wife was raving about the shop pad and overhead shelter.
I showed her the house and told her it took a year and you did it yourself. Good Job

Trevor is doing great. He bought and re-habbed a house and is in the process of building a nice shop for himself. I'll have to dig out a picture of his truck but he finished it and did a very nice job.
Thanks Gerry, while there is a fair amount of my sweat equity in the house build, I did not personally build the house. I did however build the shop. That front overhang on the shop is what I call the "Front Porch" and it is probably the single most best feature of the new shop. Being able to work outside in almost any weather is great.

Well 2 years later and I have to tell you about what I bought at a garage sale yesterday. I drove past a garage sale yesterday not too far from the grove and the sign said "Tools", so I had to stop. Everything he had for sale was rusted junk and looked like it had been through a flood. I found a body hammer head with no handle, and while looking through the pile of stuff I found a Wilton baby bullet vise and grabbed it. It was rusted solid, and I paid $10 for the vise and hammer head.
I got home and put the vise in a plastic tub and sprayed it with PB blaster. Every time I walked past the vise in the tub I looked at it and had to touch it. I lost track of what I was working on and focused on the rusted vise. I worked at the one of the screws on the swivel mount and got it to turn and that motivated me to keep going. An hour and a half later I had the little vise completely disassembled. I started cleaning the parts and after a few hours I had everything cleaned and painted. This afternoon I went out to the shop and there were all of the freshly cleaned an painted parts of the vise sitting on the bench. I had a bunch of things I needed to get done today but somehow I couldn't walk away from the vise. I reassembled the vise but was not happy with how it felt when I turned the main screw. I took it apart and reassembled it at least 5 times before I liked the way it felt. Then I took it to the surface grinder and ground the jaws so that they were parallel. I spent more time on this vise in 24 hours than I ever spent on any other little project. When it was all done I put it on the bench next to my big vise to take the finished picture, that's when I noticed the hat the hangs on the wall above my bench. Thanks Rod.

Good to hear from you! Nice memories with that little vice. Guess Rod was watching over you and helped you spiritually so you didn’t fight that vice for months! ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
