I have been building a lot of screen doors lately, as the weather has been great. I have attached some pictures. The tall black one was made to match the existing front door, which was 32"x 9', kind of an odd size, and painted to match the window frames. The plant looking one (Agave) is a clear coated lightly rusted finish in the middle with a bronze painted frame. The arched top one is a textured brown paint and has a piece of teak in the middle. I was verry happy with how this turned out, as I rolled the arches myself. I would have preffered to use a 1"x2" tubing, but can't roll arches out of that (yet!). I have one set of double doors to finish and it will be back to furniture for a while.
I also HAD to do a garden gong, it was either build something or go into town and shop for my Aunts birthday. I cut off the bottom of the small cylinder and put the cylinder in my gas forge. There I burned off the paint and then flared the bottom a wee bit. It didn't photograph real well, but I put some celtic designs in weld bead around the bottom, and some curlyQs near the top, as well as her initials. I also put some decorative beads on the inside from the clanger thing down to the bottom too. Enjoy
