That is an oxygen lance. If I remember correctly, you start the cut with a regular torch and then turn on the lance which is just a piece of pipe with oxygen coming out.

Definitly an oxygen lance. You can do pretty much the same thing with an oxy/acetelyne torch. Once the you get the cut going all you need is oxygen. But not that large of course.

Ok I see, ive came acros talk of a oxygen lance before. Last time was when the twin towers fell we where watching workers cutting large I beem with what looks like the same thing.

It's a oxy. lance. The pipe is packed with a substance (I've forgotten just what it is) to keep the fire going at the end of the pipe. The pipe and all melts as you use it. The pipe comes in sections that can connect together. The ones I've used varied from about 3ft. to 20ft. long. This thing cuts through just about anything, once I even cut through some fire brick in the ash hopper of a boiler to blow a hole out the steel casing of the other side. revpol
