I saw this idea on this or another site but I can't find it again to give credit for the idea. I am always to lazy to set my saw up to cut a 45 degree angle so this does it for me. The square stock on the bottom fits into a slot on the saw table. Quick and simple. After looking at it after it was done it could be made adjustable quit easily. Scotts found the link http://www.homemetalshopclub.org/news/feb05/feb05.html

Same as you "digr". I don't remember either, but I made one for mine about a year ago now. We must have seen the same thread. lol
Using a good quality hinge s/s at the toe has allowed me to have mine adjustable, with adding a bit more to the inside.

Dat not a bad ideer.
![]() ![]() I wonder if I could get it clamped down well enough for the Multicutter???? Might have to clamp it to the back side, but that would work as well. If not, a $120.00 blade would go bye-bye quick fast and in a hurry! ![]()

You could weld a little stop to the backside of the piece, which would grab onto the backstop, so it wont shoot out on you.

That isn't a bad idea, but I was more concerned with getting enough clamp pressure on the piece being cut. I just don't want another repeat of the last time.

That's the way I done the one at work. We make our so we could cut over a 45deg.

Brilliant! I think I'll have to borrow that idea, but I promise to give it back
![]() I always hate having to readjust my saw, the nuts always turn on bottom and are a pain to get a wrench on.

Ah, another use for it, make cuts that are 45° + whatever you set the backstop to. I am always trying to make sharper cuts than what the chop saw will let me, end up doing them unsafely, or with the sawsall.
