I also agree, Fluke is the way to go. A close second is this: http://www.hioki.com/product/field-c.html
I have a Hioki clamp meter - it is a fantastic piece of equipment. What you see hanging off an electricians pouch around here seems to be Fluke or Hioki...

Fluke is all I'd get. Something along the lines of a 337. (everyone check your 33x? series for recall). Also get a voltage detecting pen while you're shopping. It's one of the (albeit one of the 11) things I put on/in pocket every morning.

It's always handy to have a box full of different sized shunts around. Sure you don't have the isolation but if you know what you're doing it's a whole lot cheaper.

Having said that....Buy a Fluke.
