Default New screen door

Here is a new screen door that is in the works. This is a prefinish shot (which I rarely take). It will get a rust finish on the middle section and border, the scroll work will get a light hand sanding to knock the rust down a bit and create some shiny spots and get a clear coat. The outer frame will get a dark brown paint finish, as well as the door jamb (not shown). There will be a bug screen insert in it as well.
After cutting out the center section I have a markedly higher respect for the chick that does all the lacework plasma cutouts. It is not realy up to my standards for shop work and I may redo it......thinking.

Very nice work.

How heavy is it? What is the material thickness?

It is made of a 1x3 .o65 frame, the border and design are 12 ga, the wrought iron portion is 1x 3/16. It weighs 75ish pounds. I'll try and get a picture of it after the finish next week, as well as one of the jamb.

Not up to your standards? I think I'd be pretty proud of that.

Great looking job so far. I'd be interested in how you attach the bug screen. I've got a door on the drawing board and that is one of the things I'm trying to figure out.

I think it's very cool. Reminds me of a Celtic Knot.
