![]() I've also got a bunch of 12ga sheet scraps. Figure I can cut 4.5in strips and gang cut them to length on the bandsaw. I bought a BullDozer Die for the Hossfeld as I don't have a metal brake or press. I figure I need 70 Cups. IS there a way to rig a depth stop/gauge on the BullDozer Die? Any reasonable source for Purlin Cups or is it overkill and just cut a stub of 2x4 uneven angle?

I would just get some truss clips and weld them to your steel truss. They only run about $1.50.

These are about $3ea, which is not crazy. Or do you mean something like this Simpson Tie and just weld them on? https://www.strongtie.com/hurricanet...hm9_htie/p/hm9

As a word of warning, the Simpson tie products are galvanized, so the usual warnings wrt avoiding fumes while welding apply.

Ok I bent up a sample J Style Cup. Was actually pretty easy to bend the 90ยบ on the Hossfeld with the BullDozer Die. I think I'm going to drill through the Die body, put some threaded rod through it perpendicularly, and make an adjustable depth stop for 1-5/8in. So feed the blank through, pull the 1st bend, feed again, and pull the 2nd bend. Will take a couple to get it right, but should go pretty quick. Will post pics in a few days.
