Hmmm, mark, does loading 25 tabs at one after another when opening the all the unread new posts cause extra load on the server, or is my max 500 kbps connection bottlenecking it to where your router doesn't notice?

25 connections isn't much; SFT generates a little over 137,000 hits each day (on average) and I host several other sites as well (though none by themselves generate as much traffic as SFT).

As for bandwidth I don't think you're going to hurt my connection... I've got an 8 Mbps synchronous fiber connection and the router will handle 12 Mbps without trouble, though it does seem to have trouble when there are several thousand simultaneous connections.
