Hi,
I'm not sure?

All the welders aboard ship were pretty much set up for 3 phase?

I was not aware that they were rare???

Here is a welder I saw used on deck as it was an inverter and easy to move around.

As you can tell by the plug it is 3 ph!

Oh yea, these PowCon's are darn nice Welders and very popular!

I have (2) of those, they are both single/three phase.

I have a K. O. Lee welder. Thinking it is from the 40s. Welds fine. It does need some restoration.

Hi,
Nice! Maybe name it R2D2?

How much power does it have?

Is it DC?

I'm always keeping my eye open for old cool welders...

Even though I don't really have room for them in my small shop!

275 amps AC only. May get time this summer for the resto. I have said that for 3 years now. It was made in Nebraska. The company made a lot of different equipment.

That welder has more in kin with a Buck Rogers art deco design than Star Wars.

I’ve used a couple K O Lee surface grinders, I think they may have been what we had in the high school shop.

This is the most vintage unit I've had in my shop in a while. $33 OTD from an auction. 70s-80s vintage, made in Taiwan. Cleaned it, took it apart, cleaned connections and lubed it. Replaced the lead socket insulator shown (about $17). Tested OK but I had no use for it so after a week or two I sold for a quick $100. This time next year it will be in Presque Isle, Maine.
