With these sort of 12v hydraulic pumps you need to keep an eye on the duty cycle for the electric motor.
I have one on a small rock drilling machine that I built. I think if I were to switch it on and leave it running for a few mins it would soon over heat. My system uses a momentary push button that I push to run the pump and then use the other hand to operate the spool valve leaver. Rob Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Karl this unit would be a better choice for your project as it is actually set up to run a remote spool valve assembly. I know it's more expensive but it will make your project a lot more simple. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...9758_200329758

You'll need a valve setup like this for your controls. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...8936_200638936 I just pulled this up as an example you may have an AG supply place in your area where you can pick one up

You'll also want to have a filter on the return side going back to your pump and reservoir https://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...5165_200675165

The box is a metering block with a system relief valve to prevent physical damage to the lift if you exceed it's capacity. You are going to have to replace all your hoses to reach your control valve assembly. You will need a couple T-fittings to tie the side cylinders together and a single line from each T to your control valve. I think you only need a 2 section valve if that is all the cylinders you need to operate. OH, wait I just reread your post. You do need a 3 section valve.
