Brush pulling
Any of you used the brush grubber tongs before? Would prefer to rip it out roots and all, versus cutting and having the little stick type stumps left. I’ve found two styles, a choke chain type of setup, and a tong style. The choke chain one is an interesting idea. May be a little more work to use, but pulling on multiples at once may offset that some. I’ve been tempted to spray it too, but don’t have easy access to good quality spray, and still have the leftovers to deal with. https://www.amazon.ca/Industries-BG-...60463014&psc=1 https://www.amazon.ca/Industries-BG-...46241453&psc=1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I haven’t used them personally, but a friend had said the grabber type work well. At least for ones big enough to grab.

Not quite in the same price range, but I'd opt for one of these..... https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Attachm...78214614&psc=1

I have had decent luck going completely around the tree with Tordon . Usually takes 2 attempts. Have used up to 24" for standing dead firewood .

Hmmm. Maybe I’ll slash everything a foot above the ground then run through it all with a mini excavator after it’s died off. Eventual plan is to add the space to the yard, so most will end up as grass, one area will likely be concrete for a patio/gazebo, and another for a possible storage shed.

As I posted in the ‘what I did today’ thread, I ended up buying a brush blade for the Stihl Kombi trimmer I have.

It works well, and though I was working solo this round, with another set or two of hands pulling the brush away, I think one could cover a good area fairly quick.
It does a nice job of spanning that gap between trimmer and chainsaw. For what I’m doing I end up with all three on the go. The area in the picture was maybe an hour worth of effort, the area to the left/rear is what the whole area with the long grass looked like. The trees still there are likely around 5-6” diameter to give a sense of scale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party but this thing is great for that kinda work
https://www.amazon.com/295507-0-Univ.../dp/B00RZH1EYC It is a workout using it, but it chops stuff up like a flail so there's often no need for any cleanup. |
