That is about what the used anvil market is like around here.

I delivered some hay to a place once that had about a 200lb anvil painted black and sitting against the front of the barn like a decoration. I almost offered to buy it and then noticed that they had been using a cutting torch on top of it

Anything not trashed folks are like "new anvils run $7/lb and this one is an antique with 70% edges so I want $9/lb minimum"
