I Am The Expert
at moving my shop, 4 moves in 8 months. I think that I should have my own section here devoted to shop moving and that I should be the moderator.
Anything you need to know about setting up phone lines and internet, new business cards and figuring out your postal code. Judging how many flatbeds and tilt and loads you will need to move the equipment. What customer trucks you can drive and which ones require a towtruck, and how to sucessfully book the towtruck firm so that everything gets moved in one day at a rate that you can afford. Getting the air compressors up and running, installing welding plugs, settting up tool boxes and working bays. Trying to find the parts you moved. Repairing the rental truck cause one of your guys had a boo boo. The best is having to check your mail at four different locations.

Big,you can have the title of "moving expert"!
i have moved a local automotive machine shop 4 times in the last 20 years,and all im doing is rigging and driving the forklift. to move all of that stuff is a BIG job.

Big has it all on pallets and wheels, load a pallet on the forklift, hook something on the back, and drive to the new location!!
Seriously though, you need to get settled, so that we can start enjoying the pictures of the work that you're doing again.....much more fun than moving!!

On dialup here at this shop and posting pics is almost impossible. At the next shop I hope to have high speed and can then get back to posting again.
My new year is off to a rocky start Having to move the shop again digital camera not working two converters in my fifth wheel fried flat tire on my truck wifes little Morkie killed by a car yesterday cat came home all beaten up hot water tank sprung a leak I sure hope things settle down.

Big, I thought I had too many moves, 5x in about 10 yrs, but you da winner......but 4 moves in 8 months.....WHY!!!
You did not do it just to get the "expert" tittle did you?:evil: Sorry for the string of bad luck, guess the start of this year has not been good for a number of us!!! good luck dd

I am sorry for everyone's bad luck but thankfully everything here is doing fine.
I would like to make one more move but I think I am too old. I have friends and help here that I would not have in a new place. If I moved south I would be closer to the kids and I am sure the wife will go south after I am gone. So if we went now she would already be set up. I would like to go but I just don't think it is in me. Boy a new shop would be great though. I would probably get it built just in time to move to the old folks home. I would also have to start buying new steel.
