Default Synthetic oil

A guy on CL has four 55 gallon drum of Delo synthetic oil, Delo 400 LE SAE 15W-40. No price listed, says make offer. I could use it it in the Massey tractor, my Dodge and other small engine motors. Probably use 15-18 gallons a year. What say you I should offer for one drum?

Retails at $28 a gallon so $1600 for the drum. Not sure on the retail drum price.

It is either (1) Synthetic and a SAE 5W-40 or (2) conventional SAE 15W-40.

Find out which, because he is not telling the truth or he is ignorant of it.

$700 for synthetic
$400 for conventional

BTW, I took the price for Delvac 1 and Delvac 1300 divided by 2 and
rounded up to the next hundred. They are not from the distributor
so you do not know how old they are, they have either a 3 or 5 year
shelf life. If the seals are still in place, I might add a few hundred.

The rest of the story!!! Pics show Mobil Synthetic painted on the barrels. The label on one is the one I mentioned above. One other barrel is Rarus 827 compressor oil. I cannot see the back two barrel labels.

Really in question as the what is in the barrels now. The compressor oil is probably worth more than the others.

Too many weird things about this deal, and a 1 1/2 hour drive to check it out. Probably missing out on a good deal but too far to go see. Thanks for the info Shade.

You could also look at it as missing out on spinning bearings and throwing rods in everything you run it in.
