Default Food Industry Grease

I'm going to need some kind of open gear lube for the Wondermill drive system. The odds of contamination are probably low and I'm going to build some kind of guard for it. But, why take a chance. I'm thinking it would be best to go with a thick NLGI2 product given the application. What do you recommend Ron? I'm hoping for something I can get in a small enough quantity to not be stupid expensive.

Do you realize that Fluid Film is a food safe grease?

Honestly Gerry, no while it's been discussed on here a lot I've never even bought or used a can at this point. But, that may change in the near future this isn't any kind of extreme application. I just need to keep the gears from chewing themselves up.

If Jack would cough up some of his stash of Whale spooge grease this wouldn't even be an issue

BTW, when you are looking for food grade you need to search for NSF H1.

I use a lot of Super Lube at work it claims to be food grade. I get it at Harbor Freight.

"food|" grade seems to depend on if you are eating it or selling it.
