Did you ever figure out why it was shocking you?

Any chance this is a TIG welder and something is whacked with the HF start circuitry?

Never figured out what it was but I changed the electrode clamp to a new one, replaced the broken machine output connector and have not had a shock since. However, I have not used it outside since then either.

No, it is not a tig machine. Just AC/DC DialArc 250.
