Default Band Saw Relay Help

I picked up a Delta Bandsaw with a 3 ph motor in it, my shop only has 240vac. Replaced the motor with a 6 hp 240vac, turned it on and it ran for about 1 min and shut down .... Whattttttt ...... pulled the switch out and found a 3ph relay and a Thermal overload. Went to Amazon and pick up a New Magnetic Starter and installed it ... burnt up in 2 min. By now I know this was out of my League .... PLEASE help me ... I have to Resaw over 2,000 feet of 1x3x4 wood , (cut it down the middle). I will put up Pic's .... I need to find the right
1. Magnetic Starder relay
2. A over load
The first Pic is the New relay that I burn up
The 2nd is theOver load
The 3rd is the motor 6hp NEW
The 4 is The Saw
The last is the New...New Relay... will this one work? and work with the old Over load????
If Not please tell me what parts to buy...AMAZON I hope

Yeah, the relay is rated for 9 KW but only when running 3-phase--single phase at 240V is max of 5 HP. Your best bet is likely to replace the motor with a 3HP single phase unit then everything will match up...

... Yup I just put out $$ on this motor.... I think i am stuck with it unless It cant be done. Must be a Relay that will work?

I would think you need a starter for a 7HP motor with heaters rated 20% more than the amp draw of the motor. but someone will be here that knows for sure.

If you look at your first picture
220-240 volts,
1ph single phase,
and
hp only good for 2 horse power.

your motor pulls +6 hp power.

being that your old motor was 2 hp at 6amps
you
may also need to increase the wire size, likely to 10ga min.

yes but the old motor is a 3 ph .... unless I can use just legs instead of 3 .... I really don't know .... I might have to eat this New motor and Buy a 3hp .... really wish I can use the new one somehow.

Would this work? for a Band Saw? I think it is for a Air Compressor does it matter..the wheels on that band saw are very large and heavy

You are asking this thing to do resaw work . I think 2 hsp will not make you happy . I think you would be better off with a starter of right size .
