Moreover, people are sometimes forced to compete for resources. This means getting to the source first or grabbing as much as they can. I suspect most of the people in the video understand the risk as they must have had a mishap or three before getting to the level they are at. Most viewers of the video cannot fully understand the circumstances that drive their decisions. I have not traveled to other parts of the world but I suspect there is not the great variety and abundance of second hand machines and parts as there is in the United States. Most of people in the video were successful at accomplishing what they intended to do. The others probably learned what adjustments they need to make for the next time. Like many of us they are doing the best they can with what they have. I applaud their fortitude and ingenuity.

Wife and I watched a movie a couple of weeks ago, called 'The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind' Its based on a true story of a young man in Malawi and how he scrounged up bits and pieces to fab a windmill driven generator that powered a pump to irrigate his dads crop... The conditions portrayed in that movie, the abject squalor that some people have to live in, was horrifying. I can't even imagine living like those people live. Anytime any of us start to think we have it bad, go watch that movie...seriously.
