Here is a picture of the side boom that they put together this morning. The pipe is supposed to be delivered on wednesday.

I've been around the pipe foreman before, and let's just say that it should be interesting tomorrow. I've worked for him before when he was scabbing independent work, and he got the best of me, but I'm older now.

You guys put in a lot of pipe! Is it replacement for existing line or new to meet demand for growth? Does Tennessee have it's own gas production, or does most of it come from out of state?

BTW, that bender machine is awesome!

They are replacing an 8" line that is tapped off of a line coming from the gulf. Growth here in Nashville is phenomenol, to say the least, and the engineers are pushing their pencils and making more work for us. My buddy and I welded on a side tap off of the 12" line coming out of the station that the 20" line is coming to. We'll be tieing the 12", 10" lines over to the new 20" line.

On a side note, there was some commotion on the pipe gang outside the station where we were at. It seems that the 798 welders would not let the contractor who has the job use his own truck driver to string the pipe. They had to hire a teamster driver before they could string pipe. Interesting to watch the other crap that they are doing too.
