I got a call day before yesterday from a guy I know that works for an estate sale company. " I've got an anvil, it's so heavy that I'm not going to mess with moving it". " I want $75". OK, I'll be there. Yesterday was rained out so I go this morning. It turns out he is getting lazy, the anvil only weighs 138. I also gave $25 for this old Reed vise.

Hey! That's my vise! I didn't get the cool wingbolt or whatever it is, though.

Well, you probably got screwed pretty bad, Brad but I bet getatorch would do his best to bail you out on that anvil.

I'm starting to build up a pretty fair collection, ain't I?

Another idea for getting in on the ground floor on estate sales, call a few lawyer's offices and ask how they handle their probate sales. I went to one sale that was handled by the dead guy's lawyers and they were just about giving stuff away. Churchs might be an idea, also. Some people will their estates to their church and the church has to convert personal possessions to cash somehow.
