Not as much progress as I'd like. Forgot to get more conduit fittings.

Loaded up on conduit fittings and got a UFO high bay at Home Depot I want to try out. It's 200 watts and 26,000 lumens. If i like this light I'll go with these led high bays for general area lighting in the shop. Never had or seen these in use so I want to look into it. This way I know how I'll run my conduit for my lights in each bay.

Also will have smaller, more focused lights over my machines and benches.

The t5 high bays that I have three hanging temporary are 324 watts or so each and may be 30000 lumens with brand new bulbs.

Very bright light. Have about 75 foot candles at the chuck. I think these will work.

Just remember that large lights create large shadows...

Default 200w LED high-bay

move the high bay fixture out away from the wall another foot or two, you are losing a lot of light behind the lathe..the whole front of the lathe is dark. You could back this fixture up with a 8ft LED strip in front of the lathe as well, for when working off a shop cart with parts or tooling..works for me

+1 on moving the light away from the wall.

I don't have diffusers on any of my lights and no problems with shadows. Hang a big one over the welding table too.

Are you planning to cover the insulation with anything? It will be difficult with the conduit in the way.
