I did a thing.
I've had a 1985 F350 6.9 auto long bed crew cab srw for a while now. Ever since I bought it the previous owner would ask if I wanted to sell it back. I had the idea on pulling the motor and transmisson out of that truck and putting it in the flatbed F350 I have but the titles screwed up on it so the other day I asked him about vehicle titles (happens to own a wrecking yard) and also of he had any flatbed trucks for sale. Said he did and asked if I wanted to part with the crew cab rather then pull motors etc. Talked about one of the two flatness he had for sale. 2005 F350 crew, flatbed, drw, auto. Said he wanted 4k for it. I asked if he would be interested in trading. So we traded truck for truck. So far I've changed the oil and filter, replaced a 15 amp fuse and now the heat/ac works. Replaced a marker light and license plate lamp. Runs decent. 300k on the clock. Egr system is long gone. No head studs yet. Had a more noticeable miss at idle cold prior to the oil change. Fuel filters are next. Gets down the road fine and im impressed with how it gets up and goes. Accelerating from 46 to 65 with my foot in it is nothing. I honestly think ill be driving this from my house to the shop instead of the Dodge.
