When I worked in a fab shop. They just hired a new guy, very unfriendly guy! The shop foreman assigned him to make some long rips on some 3/4 inch plate. No one suggested he use the tractor torch. So he used the hand torch. Next thing I know he is using a sledge hammer on the plate. Being a nice guy and wanting to help I walked by and asked if he used a Homelite or Stihl :evil: :evil:

Jeff I’d never mess with ya, it’s not my nature ! Still think it’s a nice cut, I’m talking about how round the cut looks, sure it has little ridges / lines to it, but who cares, just details.

Are you putting the upper mount at the rear of the pup because there are no block mounting holes up at the front? Isn't that the port the exhaust usually comes out for the manifold pre-heat? Can you retain that feature off the front of the pup block instead? Just currious...Phil

The bracket is supposed to be on the back, the reason for the new bracket is that the Newer engine has a different mount than the older one.
The exhaust will still go out the front.

I didn't want to go to electric start as I would have had to change the ring gear.

Pile, BTW, while watching a show on Discovery the other night, they showed a gent called in to make an on-site hick-up disappear.

They were installing a huge turbine mega-generator(big mutha) at a generating plant being built from the ground up.

Not sure where now, but they were in the boonies and needed to relocate 8 holes in 2" plate that were not matched to fit the other structure. They talked about looking around in the neighboring towns and not finding anything to drill these holes.

One of the big bosses had a friend that was called in, probably named Billy Joe Bob the welder, who proceeded to fire up a torch and hand cut the holes. Without the benefit of the circle cutter. lol

They showed someone slipping a bolt into one of the holes and he had to push it home. Steady hand that old guy had for sure.
