Busy insulating shop

I have been busy insulating the shop roof. I was debating on putting batting insulation then I remembered seeing a ice box room with styrofoam insulation, so I went to my private contractor supply dealer and asked if they can get 3" styrofoam insulation. @ 18.00 per sheet not to bad to me... my shop is 25 x 40 so it took 40 sheets that are on the trailer pic shots. I had to rip them down to 34" to fit between the steel purlins and held them in place with strips of simpson straping. the sheets only weigh in a less than 5lb. I did the first half of the shop in two weekends then the other half in one weekend, The first half I was cutting the sheets down with a hacksaw blade, (time consuming) the other half I used my Dewalt recerp with a long blade and a double track to run it down.... (SWEET).

Last yr at this time of 100 deg the shop would be 105 - 110. this yr after pitting the 3" up, it has not went past 99 when it is 100 out side...

I also had a pair of 10' vent ridge caps installed.... Not sure if they work worth a crap or not... (FREE, 400.00 value for the pair).

Still looking for better ventilation to draw out the heat without running a evap cooler, to humid using an evap cooler.

what about the flammability issue? as far as i know foam is supposed to be covered with sheetrock etc since in is of course flammable, but maybe the codes are different in different areas

it'll brighten your shop up alot.... friend of mine insulated his doors and used white pvc sheet as an outer skin, looked real nice and will be easy to wipe clean..
