Default Troy-Bilt TB1942 will not move

OK
I have a head scratcher
I have a Troy Built TB1942 lawn tractor.
I belive it is a Husquvra?
3 years old
B & S single cylinder engine
Hydro trans.

When we pulled it out of storage this spring the little brass rod that allows you to push it around was in the freewheel position.
After getting it started we turned it off, and put the rod into the drive position.
When we started up it wouldn't move
Fooling around with the rod I could feel it "bumping" as I moved it but no position made it move.

Engine runs fine and both belts are in place and tight.

Any ideas?

They have a tendency to stick inside the hydrostatic trans
jack it up and use a "dead blow hammer" right next to the neutral shift lever the "freewheel rod" if it does not free up after a couple or so blows from the dead blow hammer, strat it engages the forward control like you would as if you were moving forward and the pump is working in the hydrostatic unit and give it a few bangs with the DB hammer again and see if that doesn't free it up

but don't bang it so hard you crack the housing also while working the push lever that engages and disengages it while giving it few licks won't hurt it any

I've seen this a lot with hydrostatic trans units even in new ones less than a year old... rich people would call me to tell me what you just explained and say haul it off I'll just buy a new one...

Showed one guy on a one-year-old mower when I went to go pick it up that's all it was and he still told me to take it he had a newer one being delivered the next day... and the mower he told me to haul off. so I drove it up on the trailer and went home...

FYI you can tap on the lever output shaft but be gentle as it can also help free it unstuck but tap too hard and you can chip the gear inside.

Hope this help's ya out too unstick it...

Oh, Shit! I'll go correct that I don't know what I was thinking when spell check did that... Man, I'm sorry that did not come out the way I intended it to...
But what the hell I don't mind being the butt end of a joke I've sort of gotten use to it... So now I'm stuck with it...

I should have mentioned the with the rear wheel in the air, they freewheel forward or backward, no matter the placement of the rod.

Does that give a hint?

Are you saying it is "gummy" oil in the trans?
Is there a fix for this?

I will give the taps a try this W E

Default update

No success
I do not have a dead blow hammer so I used a rubber mallet.
It is hard to get a good swing at the trans.
I thought about using a stick as a extension and hitting the end of the stick.
Any thoughts on this idea?
I am not sure on how hard I can hit it without cracking the casting.

While doing my research I have learned I have a Tuff Torq 46 tranaxle.
But I am unable to find an exploded parts drawing of this tranaxle.
I would like to see what it is I am trying to do.
But Tran Torq is pretty close to the vest with info.
The Youtubes I watched were no help.
Does anyone have an idea where I can get a drawing?

It seem pretty extreme to remove and open it for such a simple problem.
