What I ended up doing is moving the remote for the one mini-split head I have set to dehumidify in the loft, changed the ac temp from 70 to 68 and now I haven't seen any indoor humidity over 60 percent. This evening when I came over to the shop the indoor humidity was at 45%

Got the shower door installed and a coat of stain on the oak stair treads.

we found that the temp setting is critical as to how much humidity is sucked out.
The unit has to run longer to suck the water out,but you know that.
Sometimes when we go away for a month we run a dehumidifier all the time to keep it dry (as much as we can).
We put the machine in the shower so the water just drains into the shower.

Carol can monitor the temps and humidity by phone somehow.
and can lower the temps if the humidity gets too high.
Mold is always on our minds.
Having the ceiling fans running 24/7 helps too.

As of June 1st 2024 I'm living at the shop full time now. I've gotten my indoor humidity sorted out. I did notice yesterday when it was 100 outside the air conditioning was struggling a bit but was still comfortable inside when I got home at 5:30 in the evening. Was 75 downstairs and 80 in the loft but by 10:00 it had cooled down to about 72 in the loft. I keep the ceiling fans running during the day.

I don't remember is your water heater gas or el?

All electric. My previous bill was $213

Good for you Tim. Must be a great feeling living there in something you built from scratch yourself.
