I wouldn't sweat it. If you are coming in with something that tall, I'd rather hit the door that the door top plate.
Does he have those spring kickers that push on the door to start it downward? I have those on mine. The old door, if up too far, was not in any hurry to start coming down, and it didn't have them.

His doors have torsion springs. 3/4 hp opener. Both are working. We have to install the door trim and seals.

Mine too. I just realize he probably has a ceiling mount closer which is different. My unit is a wall mount that depends on the cables to lift or lower.

Yep. Ceiling mount. Winds are supposed to be 45mph today. Already 30mph. 50% chance of snow.

-31C this am, no wind so that makes it pleasant. Snow yesterday of 8 inches very fluffy stuff, warming up to -18 and snow tomorrow, then more snow for the weekend.

Yesterday got 5 more sheets of tin on before the winds came up too high. Got half the wiring runs drilled in the studs today and ran some wires for the ceiling lights. Mounted some of the outlet and switch boxes. Pics coming in a couple days.
