There was an ad on Twitter for one of these and someone asked in the comments "What you do with the mice in the bucket?". I suggested about 3" of water in the bottom of the bucket then dig a hole in the back yard. Some of the comments painted me like I had just stabbed the Pope in the eye with an icepick. But the "likes" that comment got told a different story. Idiot weenies suggesting you dump the bucket out around the corner. Fucking people are so stupid, we really need to start culling the herd...

I filled my bucket with water but the ramp up to the bait had a metal plate at the end, with another plate with the crushed cat food and chunky peanut butter bait on it. Those two plates had wires on them running to the wall socket. 120AC and them rats don't swim so good when they hit the water. Couple of years ago I helped a little old lady neighbor that had them rats crawling in her walls. Killed 17 of them in about a week. Couple weeks later killed 5 or 6 more.. they havent come back...

Yep, we got a 3-pack of the electronic cats (I like that term). Also two of the electric zap-kill mouse traps, and a half dozen toss-'em wood rigs. That is in addition to the 3 easy set plastic rigs. I've seen lots of the bucket ideas through the years but I really don't have much of a spot to set such a thing up.
I woke up this morning to Dot2 sleeping on the couch because the mouse was taunting her dog in his kennel. When she let him out to 'go after the mouse' he ended up just crawling on her head afraid anytime the little critter made a noise. It astounds me that Dot2 is so deathly afraid of mice. She has no issue going out and hunting squirrels, rabbits, etc. She's proven proficient in cleaning and cooking all manner of creatures both indoors and out. Insects and spiders are no match, even going so far as to kill them with her bare hands rather than searching for a weapon. Yet the other night she lost a battle with a dust bunny pretending to be a mouse that was "staring at her" from under the kitchen counter. So far we have tried the dog food, peanut butter, and the raisins in a variety of traps and locations. The battle rages on... |

Pecans are my go to bait. Mash them up and apply like peanut butter. When nothing else works the pecans seem to get them.
