Engine settles into the load really nicely. IMHO, I wouldn't do too much welding until that fan shroud is in place on the generator. The shroud helps guide the air where it's supposed to go to cool. You probably knew that, though.

Lejay co sold the generators in the 50s.They offered a welder with a 10 hp Wisconsin engine.It had 3 drive belts and a 10 inch pulley on the engine,An electric fan was used on the generator.Surplus center has no parts in their latest catalog.You MUST use a reactor.Wind it on a solid 2 in steel bar.I cut a piece off a broken tractor axle for the reactor on my DC converter build.For the 150 watt rheostat check Fair Radio.
