Default Tig Cooler build

I decided to build my own version of a tig cooler. (seems they are becoming as popular a project as a cart and welding table) I love to make things anyway so why not a cooler for my 250ex.
The cost should come to between $200 and $250 when completed. These pictures are of the frame and layout of the motor / pump, tank (7qt. go kart tank) and radiator (trans cooler) It will fit on my home made cart.
As I progress I will post more pictures. I may make a shroud for the fan to radiator and maybe a cover for the unit, let me know what you think about those.

Looks good so far.

I'd look at putting some sort of filter in. Even in a closes system.

Hi Ray, I also built one for my 256P, I would really urge you to put a shroud over the fan to the radiator and seal off the radiator to the case wall, otherwise you will just blow air over it and not through it. Of course you will also need to have a vent somewhere else to let the air in or out as well.

I didn't on mine and now will have to modify the case with a shroud to enclose the fan blades, I thought I could get away with out one. Not hard to do on mine but time consuming and annoying to have to redo it as mine is all painted now. Depending on which way the blades are positioned, I think it is better to suck the air in though the ribs and not push air out through the ribs. If that makes sense.

I built it several months ago but still haven't posted it up yet. I will post up my build soon as I get a chance to scratch myself,as I have been busy lately.

One thing to be aware is that if it is a Proconn pump, they do come in a variety of pump pressures and volumes per minute and the side pressure relief valve is not designed to be a permanent pressure relief valve. Most TIG/MIG torches don't go past 50-60PSI and allow up to 4lt per minute before the linings blow so make sure that you don't go past that.

I like both my Everlast Mig and tig I am a novice welder so I cannot give you an in depth review, but both machines are well built and work flawlessly. And both are capable of pro quality welds Some day I hope to be able to say that about myself. If you go to weldingtipsandtricks.com they do a review video on a couple of everlast units, and also a 5 or 6 part video on setting up a tig and use an everlast for that also.
I just upgraded to a wp-20 torch (but cannot use it until I finish the cooler) and needed a dinse connector My LWS where I ordered the torch also supplier the Dinse for $28. that was way less then anyone on line. The torch and liner was $138 for a WP-20 flex head with 25 ft cables.
Could not touch that on line. The LWS is family owned and I have purchased my gas and consumables there for a couple of years, great guys.

That's awesome. I bought a power plasma 50 from everlast and for 700$ its sooooo with the money. I was thinking about selling my Lincoln 175 for a everlast 200 but I was scared about my wp20 connections. I'm glad you like yours and practice makes perfect! Keep the pics commin!

Hertz
The trans cooler came from Summit racing and is about 7 x 12 inches or so (cant remember the exact measurements).
The base for the cooler is about 9.5 x 21.5 nad build to fit on my home made cart next to the plasma.
I got the remainder of the fittings, clamps and hose yesterday but this weekend is already busy so I hope to finish it early next week I wil post more pictures then.

Here are a couple more pictures of the motor wired and iin its final location, and the trans cooler and fan shroud fabricated and installed.
I hope to start plumbing it on Monday I ordered the fittings but two are incorrect but I hope to come up with a workaround with parts found locally if I can.
