Are these older electronics any good? What are they worth?

These are for sale in the local area. All supposedly working (no antennas). Worth a look? Or pass?

Man, that was going down memory lane for me back when I was in electronic engineering. I will bet Lew gets a kick out of it too
Some of the stuff could be useful if you are into electronics. Look at it like this: They are comparable to a dwell gauge. When everything had points, you had to have one. Now that everything has gone digital, not so much. It is specialized equipment, wouldn't have a broad appeal except to somebody that probably already has all that stuff.

I thought of Lew when I posted this, didn't realize you were into it at one time. I know there are a couple others here too...

Guy wants $300 for all the stuff and that is probably $250 more than what I would pay. I'd be curious if the RF generator could jam my kids cell phones so they get some work done... There is also a cap tester that looks interesting and old Micronta meter.

If you get a cap tester get one that also test the caps for break-down voltage.

But not sure about the two radios, I was thinking about a HAM receiver just in case world war III, figure HAM radio between people will be the only thing working.
thinking about $35 each but best check the web, Hallicrafters was once a well known name and the demand may be high.
antennas and speakers may also be required for the radios, may not be built in.

The Micronta, I have one but never used it. a lot did showed up at swapmeets so I figure that model maybe buggy.

If the radios still pick up frequency bands in use today then they're probably worth 50-100 each if they have built in speakers for that retro appeal.

That giant voltmeter would be a cool thing to have permanently wired up in a shop or man cave but the rest of it as someone says is probably only of interest to someone who already has them all

Yea guys, It really almost brought tears. The Hallicrafters with the linear "dial" reminds of the model 300 I had. The grid dip would be useful for lots of things IF ALL the coils are with it, there should be a half doz or so. From a single half loop of copper ribbon to a big form wound full. I think the tube in that is an Acorn tube. How many of you know what they look like ? I have one (not the one use in the Gd ) laying here on the fireplace mantel along with a bunch of other antique tubes.
That is the era I started out in electronics 1940s .

After I inquired, he sent me another 30 pics or so. Mostly of the back and sides and maybe a couple oddball things he didn't post pictures of initially. I've posted a few more pics. I will say that the items in the pics look to be in VERY good condition and not weathered at all. There was probably a box of cables, leads and parts at one time that got lost in the shuffle over the years.

I asked the seller if he had any other coils or leads and he did not--"WYSIWYG"...

In remotely related meter news, my son calls me to tell me he's having battery problems with his car. It just died on him and wouldn't turn over. He is at his GFs house about 30min away. He gets a jump and car runs for another 15min then dies. I explain to him that even though he can "pop" start it (it is stickshift) there will be no voltage to power the fuel pump or ignition and it will also make the accessories like alarm act funny... With no meter of his own or any to borrow to diagnose, we get AAA to tow the car home. Charged the battery and car started right up, alternator charging fine. Checked and cleared the codes with the car on for 10min or so, went to restart and the battery is dead. Battery is over 3 years old and that is about the lifespan of a regular lead-acid here in FL. Got a new Exide battery for $130 from Home Depot of all places...

ANYHOW, I was determined to get him and his sister a cheap little voltmeter to keep in their cars for troubleshooting. Zamazom had this beaut for $8.78 after one-time coupon. It has a lot of features including a case, volt sensing feature, backlight and hold. I wanted to check it out first and I think it is a good value and seems adequately made so I got another one for his sister just now. No coupon it was a little under $12, delivered tomorrow. These are BF/CM sale-priced at $7 if you have Priim. I just bought 3 more. One for my trunk, one for the dot's BF and one for the dot's BF's little brother, a high-energy 11yo with a quest for knowledge...
