![]() I bought for a decent price a synflex hose crimper which for the manlift is perfect. As most the lines are thermoplastic vs rubber. I talked about getting a real hose crimper and after looking around I found this machine on ebay in non operational condition.. Seller said it just hums when plugged in. I paid 1900.00 for the machine and shipping. It was not working but figured it would be a reasonable cost to fix it. It has a bunch of crimp dies and was in pretty good, but grungy shape. Figured it must be something simple. Sadly in shipping it got damaged and arrived with the outer hood damaged, light missing.. I called my local Omni to get new hood/light and price on main frame as it was bent. The hood and light were 750.00 and tax. I submitted it to seller and he refunded me 775.00 to purchase the new parts. Turns out Omni was putting me to the torch.. The replacement light was 8.00 and is a stock unit for trucks. The hood is dented some but straightened the frame and will more than likely make a new outer casing out of thing gauge alum diamond plate. Turns out I don't know anything about Enerpac.. They are custom everything. The motor which would not turn over is a 24mm shaft with C face mount. I priced out a replacement at 1800.00 and an aftermarket one for 700.00 and shipping. I took the original motor to the rebuilders 3 weeks ago to have them check it out.. Turns out it was dirty inside.. and they also replaced the bearings. 115.00 out the door. So at this point I am 1280.00 into it. Today I assembled the whole thing back together and it works perfectly. I will have to do a calibration once I order the fittings. But for now it's pretty sweet hearing it hum and cycle the say it's supposed to.

Looks like the gamble paid off. Good for you getting a refund from the seller!

The seller was fantastic.. I contacted him and he said send over the quote for the parts.. I did and he said he would just file with the carrier and refund me the amount for the parts plus tax.
Not sure what happened in shipping.. The screws holding it down to the pallet were loose, and it looked like it was smooshed against something else. These particular units are going for crazy money and figured it would be an investment if it did not work out.. I mean I accounted for the unit needing a new motor before I made the offer. What I did not consider is Enerpac is European and proprietary with everything and extremely over priced.. I get it.. You offer a product that is unique to the market place you can charge premium money.. The 24mm shaft in only a 1.5HP motor was the catch. Did not know till I got it apart. Yes it has worked out well.. The seller was great with questions too. I asked him if it powered on and he said yes. He said the motor would not spin.. But the LED's came on and it would hum. when I got it it looked like it was messed with and was switched to 220V but it works now.
