Default Scrap Yard Haul

This paper shear came in several days ago. I have been taking parts off of it. I guess it is near 100 years old. It is currently set on the front operator end. They said it weighs 9000 lbs. That’s a whole lot of mass to cut paper.

A technologically advanced society would teach their children how to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together before teaching them how to use a lighter.

Aren't energy consumption and computers supposed to make life less stressful?

If you are not having fun then you are doing it wrong.

I bought the flywheel connected to a shaft that has two friction devices on it, that group weighed 680 lbs. I also got the electric motor. It is made by GE and old.
The two gear motors in the foreground are from a different apparatus.

I also got two turn buckles with cast iron ends. Those weigh 80lbs. each.

Notice the friction device on the high end.

A picture of some of the components I would like to get.

This machine is surprisingly complex. I could not wrap my head around all the going’s on with it.

That friction device looks like a single rotation clutch like on an old punch press
