Default You Might Be A Redneck If

The wood supply at the back door was getting mighty low and the 30" of snow a few weeks back created serious transport problems. The DR powerwagon is pretty much useless in the deep snow. I ordered a set of chains with the hope it would perform better. Josh and I gave it a try Thurs. After Rototilling up through the yard with one load the consensus was this sucks Friday we gave wood hauling another go knowing more snow was coming today. That's when my "Redneck Cooter Gene" kicked in I still have the hood for the Silver Bullet from the wife's Bambi encounter because I haven't removed the sound insulator from it. Yup, tie a piece of cable pulling strap to it and we had a bigass sled to haul wood on. The wood pile at the back door is replenished and the hood won't be getting tossed any time soon.

Btdt. Used a hood behind dads old Harry Furgeson TO-20 when I was a kid. I think I even had it behind the ol 72 Harley Davidson snowmobile too, when we would run out of wood in the winter time. Pack some trails down and go thru the woods cutting down and dead trees. More than once had to go back thru to pick up pieces that fell off on the first load.

LOL back in the day when car hoods were real car hoods my dad or brother would chain it to the back of the car and tow us on the road around a four mile square and do there best to get us to fall off as we went. No salt on the roads then. Great fun!!

Dad used a hood from a 52 Pontiac as a stone boat towed behind his home built tractor for pocking rocks from the garden each spring.
DDad was good at repurposing but I think this was common practice in Saskatchewan during and after the depression.
He said tha some hoods lasted a long time others not as long.

My Dad towed us on a round coca cola sign in the 60s with his Chevy 2 1/2 ton trailer pulling truck. Was real cool sliding around the corners.
