Default Carving hatchet 2

so, this past Saturday i did a demonstration at the EAIA Fall area meet. @ the Moses Wilder blacksmith shop in Bolton, MA

I had 3hrs to do a 6hr project and i chose another carving hatchet.

The first photo is what I ended up with rough forged at the meeting. I think it was a great demo but with the hurry I made a bunch of mistakes with measurements (Never measured nor used any measurements I might have had from earlier models).

So I just did it all by eye. Someone else ill equipped shop, Not even any welding flux. Etc, etc. Lucky enough one of the other smiths had flux in his truck. Brand new box.

Anyhow, because of not measuring I ended up popping the eye seam as I drifted the eye that was to small.

So, sunday I welded a strip of metal onto the front of the eye spanning to the blade to add some extra metal. it turned out very well after this.

Was tough welding on the extra piece which was 1/4X3/4" by just over the eye width.

If I defend myself I am attacked.

My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.

My attack thoughts are attacking my invulnerability.

I'd like to think of something smart, but I don't want to hurt myself.
