I see there may be some misunderstanding of a couple of things here.

First, I should clarify that my aversion is with all power drive when not needed not just electric power. I believe adding power drive and control systems to our lives is a disservice to humanity that will be realized by everyone soon enough. Hydraulics introduce another distasteful element for me, that is the possibility of leaks. I was quite upset when more than a gallon of fluid soaked into the ground after a hose burst on my backhoe last year.

Second, this dumping hoist/winch will be used with my tractor as a tow behind trailer with two wheels. When the skid steer quick attach plate is installed the trailer frame and dumping hoist will be removed and the caster wheel will be attached in its place. With this configuration the tractor loader will dump the box, there is no need for any other dumping mechanism.

A technologically advanced society would teach their children how to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together before teaching them how to use a lighter.

Aren't energy consumption and computers supposed to make life less stressful?

If you are not having fun then you are doing it wrong.

The new axle components ready for being pressed together. Since I will weld the assembly I only created about .001” interference.

Pressing the parts.
Notice the square on the press bed, I use it to check my progress. Notice the offset of the press ram and the axle. Here I am trying to make a correction to bring them square. I check this about five times for the first inch of travel.

These pieces needed about 8 tons of force.
