but the engine you inquired about I've used a few of them and all seem to hold up as well as the hondadog we replaced them with.
That is exactly what I want to hear concerning this engine. Thanks

The 6hp singles cylinder engines are a steal for 99 bucks. I'm running four of them now. They do not like ethanol gas.

I've got a buddy building a mud buddy style long shaft outboard with one of the twins.

They are pretty much honda clones. The 6hp parts cross to Honda parts. A lot of go cart racers hot rod them.

I was told by a rep that they are hondawg engines the old XL series...the molds were bought by HF
The new hondawg engine series for the last few years have been the GS series
an i am inclined to believe it as its easier to order Honda parts for the xl series and fit the small predator engines with no issues.

I just bought a bunch of carbs for the 8hp Honda motors they were like 12 or 13 bucks ea. and use them on both the predator vertical and horizontal engines...

Years ago HF had a mounting pattern in their manuals not sure why they still don't prolly like the rest of the world trying to cut cost but it was covenant
and you bring up a good point its not a bad idea to take a looksee at their manuals before ya buy something you think might work or for project planning as they do give a good bit of information darn near with all their stuff other places aren't as informative in their manuals.
