Default What type of box is this?

I've got a bunch of conduit boxes like this. Got them second hand a while ago.

What are they? Switch boxes?

How can I make use of these?

Looks like you will need special switch covers to make use of those boxes. But if you can find outlet plates for those, six outlets at each box is a lot better than 2!

Needs a plaster ring which can be sourced at a big box store.

Here's a catalog. Boxes on page A34, covers on A35.

Those big ones are expensive if you have to buy them.

I almost crapped myself on what they want for a 6 gang ring, $30 to $200 each + the box. 3 gang not too bad.
