My last question is always "Is there a discount for paying cash?" It worked when I bought my bike.

and he's always gives me discounts here and there......

sometimes a few dollars spent upfront will pay off when your rig is busted and you need it back quicko

shop the local guy since they really dont make much on hardware...they do well on gas if they can refill their in the shop and buy bulk gas from BOC or Airgas
Hey, Crithpy...if you ever need warranty service, drop me a note if your local guys don't do it themselves. There is a guy in Austin you need to stay away from and a guy just a tad north of SA on 35 that is better than all of them put together.

I am new to the Hill Country and this forum. Which LWS to you prefer in the Austin to New Braunfels area? Or maybe it is bad form to use names?

We don't usually worry much about bad form, Tom - or good form either for that matter.
I'm pretty sure Don & others can & will recommend their choices to you either here or in a pmail.
Welcome aboard & thank you for posting your location. (good form )

Hey, Tom...I suppose I'll post it her in case some lurkers may want to know as well.

San Marcos is in the middle, so I'll start there. 3D Welding Supply is the one I use. I mainly go to their Boerne store, but will call and check things at SM at times. They are at 3016 Hwy 123...just happened to have an invoice in front of me.

Austin is best commented on by others since I hardly ever go there.

New Braunfels has an Airgas on 35, just south of town on the southbound access road. Drive by that one all the time, but never have stopped. There is also New Braunfels Welders Supply on Industrial...heard about them, but never been there either.

There is also Comal Oxygen in Sattler, near Canyon Lake. They are easy to get along with. They have to order out of the ordinary stuff, but pretty much will have the std fare. They are also open until 2 or 3 on Sat...that helps. Rebel is the woman behind the counter there.

Not a problem, the thread isn't the only cleaning I did.
