Default bi fold overhead door

Has anyone here evr fabricated a bi fold overhead door for a shop?? I've been researching them a bit and might like to build one for my shop..any Ideas or resources would be appreciated...Jeff

I built one for my shop. It is not hard to do. Mine is 18 ft wide by 16 ft tall.

I will have to get some pics later today and see if I can get them on here. Haven't done any of that yet so I'm sure there will be a learning curve. One thing to keep in mind is that the wall of the building you want to put this on needs to be tied back well. All of the weight of the door is trying to pull it loose where it is anchored at the top.

Weldor, if you have trouble posting your pictures gimme a holler. They need to be compressed to 100kb or so, then you use the manage attachments button & navigate to your picture folder just about like attaching them to an email.
If worse comes to worse, you can email them to me:

I know I'll have use for it. There's an old boy that has an airplane hangar a couple miles outside Petersburg. Every time I drive by that thing I have to slow down and take a look when he's got the door open.

Some are intrigued at the plane inside, I'm just checking out the door. I figure the thing's something like 30-35' wide, maybe 12-15' tall. Never really stopped, but it's huge compared to my lowly doors. If'n I ever have a shop big enough, I'm using the idea.
