From my 1000’ perspective, it may have been because you have not been around posting for a while, Randell might not really know who you are and your background as to be able to make those comments. Myself, having met you face to face, can disregard some crudeness in your shop talk.

Plus, I know Randell has been having some real life shit to deal with, and does not need this forum adding to it, and needed a venue to vent also.

Anyways, Neal try not to be a stranger. Miss your input on some of these posts.

I think it was 2.5 in S10. Some engines came from factory with some not all crank journals as much as .030 under. Dully noted in manuals .

So the wife reported that the Cub Cadet, rider, the engine RPM's rocketed high
and the throttle would not work and she heard a clunk or two before she could
shut down the engine with the key.

So now for the 4th or 5th time the governor has grenaded in the engine...

So life has decided to keep my busy while I wait for the crank and heads to be
returned...

Ordered parts for the Kohler Courage 19 HP engine last night.

Headed to Cleveland today, be home Friday. Maybe I'll have all my parts by
then...

The picture of the gov on the left is what I had retrieved from the crankcase.

The assy on the right is a good one I scavenged off another engine of the same
model. Problem is I need gaskets and seals as well.

I recovered more parts later but did not get pictures. Still do not understand
why this happens so much...

Dang, I hate to hear that said about a Kohler because I thought they were the most reliable small engines we had left. The engine I used on the Forksnatch is smaller, the 11 hp iirc, so maybe it is a different cat. Other than the fuel pump, which never was right for the application, it has been perfect. But then it hasn't had nearly as much time in actual service as a lawnmower either.
It's probably run barely enough to make break-in hours.
