The machine work is done. There was a fair amount of distortion. The bearing retainer/cap bore was about .015” out of round and the mating surface was also out of flat about .015”.

I have to investigate what issues may arise from the change to the mating surface. As Ironman said I might have to shim the cap.

I have yet to look into the threaded holes to see how complete the braze is. Judging by the way the drilling felt it’s not very good.
