Just noting 1,600 - 3,000 watts ......... I assume the motor need.
may need to add battery's for more power.

We, ran a lot of units like that on dump bed stake bodies when we were a Mom & Pop. No, need for an extra battery.

Do I change out the push button controller for an on/off switch then run continuous to the 3 spool valve?

I just edited my last post to cover what you are asking about. You don't need valving on your pump unit if you are running through an open center spool valve. I would also suggest your spool assembly has a relief cartridge to prevent damaging pressure spikes.

Oh, you should be golden with that. Set it up with an open center spool valve and an on off switch versus a momentary on a dump bed app and cycle away. It will just run no-load until you run the lift. OK the one issue I see on further thought is the pump combo you posted has control valving. You could block the valve open going one way into your spool valve or find a simpler one probably cheaper with no valving and just a pump and reservoir.
