I am sticking with it as I refuse to pay more for a brand name product that I can pay less for a generic product for a lesser price but does the same thing as the over rated over priced product.
What does Lowes call their product?

Went out to the barn and checked the jug I have. The printing on it is so faded I cant make out the name. I checked the Lowes site and I cant find it listed by searching for ospho or rust neutralizing chemicals. What ever it is/was they may have discontinued selling it since the last time I purchased it from there was over 5yrs ago.

Called around and found out a semi-local ace hardware store had two gallons of the Osphos coating and went to pick it up.

On way back, noticed some auction signs and decided to stop and look around. Wish I could have stayed and actually bought some items. Was lots of guns, ammo, reloading stuff, which did not interest me, but a lot of tools which did. Seen a very cool vice there, that I never had seen before. The front jaw was the base, and the back jaw moved back and forth. It looked very heavy duty.

My son was with me, and he got me out of there before I started bidding. Wife was at home waiting for me to show up to go to a friends graduation party. I think one of the first times I ever left an auction without at least bidding on something. The main thing that saved me is knowing that I really don’t have any room for any more tools til I build another building.

But I also got to catch up with some old friends of my dads at the auction, and remember some old times. They had guys running some side by sides down the road as a shuttle service, since I had to park a half mile away, and I ended up riding up with the son of the guy that my dad bought our Michigan end loader from. I never had met him before, but when he mentioned to the driver that he was coming to see his old man at the auction, I struck up a conversation, and realized I knew his dad. Small world.

No, only marking I saw on it was “OVAL”. Not sure what this means. My friend said it might have come from a old ship. That’s only a guess I think though.

What say ye old Navy guys??

Have you checked on Ospho.com?

Quote:
We do not have a list of any of the final retail outlets. Companies below buy in bulk and distribute to their stores when the stores request Ospho.

Smaller Quantities can be found at some:
ACE Hardware Stores (Check ACE Warehouse if local store doesn't have it)
True Value Hardware
Do-It-Best Hardware
Handy Hardware
Orgill, Inc.
Sherwin Williams
Duron Paints & Wall Coverings
Lancaster

I did. That is why I started looking at ace hardware stores in my area.
Direct from the company prices were about $50 a gallon, ordering a 4 gallon case.

Online ace hardware was 26.99. My local stores only order it in when someone request it. I paid 27.99 gallon I think.
