Yes. As a "limited instrument" sailplane pilot that gives me the "hebe-jebies".
:-) Of course even many years ago with GCA radar and a TRUST in the
controller it worked.

I sat thru many Cat II and Cat IIIb approaches in the 747 and 747-400. I say "sat thru" because the autopilot flies the approach during those types of approaches/landings. The pilot takes over and lands in the Cat II, but the plane can autoland in a Cat IIIb. There are so many redundant systems and safety procedures for LLM (Lower Landing Minimum) approaches that it was almost routine. I had all the confidence in the world in Boeing and their equipment. As one of my instructors was fond of saying "Them Boeing boys build a good airplane."
