Default Shed to Shop

This project started a while back. In a process to leave Illinois I figured I deserve a shop update from a 2 car garage to a bit under 1000 Sq.ft. machine shop. It will be a metal only gig, no wood finally. Wood will be another building on the property.

I'd like to say a big thank to Milo and Linda for all the help during our transition as we'll be their neighbor in Wyoming. Chris, your help on the building was invaluable, thanks.

The plan was modified a bit as another couple of feet was added to the 6 foot of outside concrete. It's a plan for the concrete guys to give me an estimate.

And of course the beginning of the project much earlier this year.

Once the concrete was done we discovered that the roof is in bad shape and needs new sheeting. There was some heavy rain around that time and you can see the puddles inside. It was a tough time as we did not count on the extra time and some money spent. The good ting was that Chris had some roofing steel hanging around his place and was enough for the replacement. Unfortunately I did not make pics of the roofing thing but you'll see the outcome on the framing pics.

All this happened during several months as we progressed on the project.

Looking good Bubba. Careful though, Chris might be over a lot using your shop!

I must have missed the thank you. It was a pleasure to be of assistance.

A bit of update.. A few pics of the last trip out West and the results. The shop basically done except the electrical. Just have one outlet for now, I have to figure out where goes what as the gear arrives. I love the morning light coming in. All and all it was a good trip. #1 North side, #2 South side and #3 the first arrivals. My baby lathe and one tool box.
