I am considering that one as well. For the amount of use I will use it for the price is reasonable to me.

This thread jinxed me. I went to cut some 16ga sheet alum last night with my Hobart 250ci and while trying to blow a start hole in it, I heard a "pop" and then nothing but the compressor noise. Threw a new tip and electrode on it and no luck. The tip DID arc when touched on the ground clamp so something internal that will require further investigation at a later date... I have a 625 that is way overkill but it will blast through the sheet like butter--just more of a pain in the ass to setup...

Y'all got me wanting to try out the chinesium machines. But I don't even have a spot to use the gear I've already got.

I've done a lot with my little Hobart plasma (that I bought used for twice the price of these) years ago but it has never been terribly good or efficient. I loaned it out to a friend and he had great luck with it. In fact took me almost a year to get it back .

Vids I've watched of the Bestarc, it looks like a very capable machine for at least hobby use. One guy (slowly) was cutting 5/8 fairly cleanly with it.

Well I bought the best arc one and I had some points on a credit card and got it for 115 out of pocket. I only have it out of the box so far hope to at least plug it in and test it this weekend. I see they are back up to 249 now.

Salemans from LWS that supply our shop stopped in Friday. Had a deal on a small inverter welder. 110/220, with a tig torch, that will be upgraded because they ran out of stock ones, and a flow meter. 3 year phone in warranty. $199.

Even the weldor in our shop bought one for his garage. I have one coming too.

Will take pictures when I get it.
